Geraldine Hanna, age 99, formerly of Ashtabula, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Villa at the Lake in Conneaut.   She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 6, 1917, the daughter of Harry & Bertha L. (Lewis) Smith.

She was a proud member of Orion Chapter #12 O.E.S., and had recently received her 70 year pin.  She was a volunteer for the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She loved crocheting, knitting and cross stitch.

She is survived by her son, Dr. James (Lois) Hanna of North Kingsville; 5 grandchildren, Mark (Andrea) Hanna, Todd (Robin) Hanna, Elizabeth (David) Sabol, Jeffrey (Candy) Hanna, Jill (Jason) Prince; 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Hanna in 1977; son Douglas Hanna in 2012; sister Wilma Brett in 2002.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman from 6:00-7:30 P.M. prior to the service.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 7:30 P. M. beginning with an Eastern Star service followed by Rev. Stephen Long of First Presbyterian Church officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 4317 Park Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Burial will take place Thursday at 11:30 A.M. at Riverdale Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY.
