Donald “Delmar” Harden, Sr., age 82, E. Ashtabula St., Jefferson, died Saturday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
He was born November 28, 1934 in Great Cacapon, WV, the son of Bernard & Pearl (Milburn) Harden and has been a Jefferson resident most of his life. He was married to Monica J. Hazlinger on January 12, 1957 in Windsor Twp. Mr. Harden was a 40 year employee with Nelson Tree Service, retiring in 1997.
Mr. Harden enjoyed hunting, especially in West Virginia, fishing, baseball, traveling and car racing, often traveling to many of the NASCAR races.
Survivors include his wife, Monica, three children, Michael B. (Nelda) Harden of Conneaut, Deborah A. (Robert Fast) Harden of Jefferson & Donald D. Harden, Jr. of Jefferson, two grandchildren, Kyle Harden & Keith (Lindsey) Hall, two great-grandchildren, Addison & Alexis and a brother, Gabby (Nancy) Harden of N. Kingsville.
His parents and siblings, Vernon & Curt Harden and Wilma Rockwell & Mary Light all preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Alexander D. Martin, longtime neighbor of Mr. Harden, officiating.
