William (Will) Arthur Smith, 60, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
He was born on August 17th, 1962, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Arthur and Barbara (Burgett) Smith.
After graduating from Jefferson High School class of 1980, Will started his career in construction. For the past 30 years he has owned and operated Will Smith Construction Company.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, making maple syrup with his family and was a longtime member and trustee at Jefferson Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3881. One of his greatest joys was when he became a grandpa. Those that know Will well, knew that most sentences started or ended with “Hodey-Doe”, his favorite saying.
Will is survived by his loving daughters: Jessica (Corey) Fry, Nicole (Adam) Goudge, Andi (Devon) Mackey, and Allie (Mick) Smock, grandchildren: Kaydn, Connor, Mikey, Colton, Peyton, Hazel and Holden, siblings: Elly (Dan) Hennigan, Dave (Judy) Smith, Irene (Ted) Edge and Roy (Debbie) Smith and Janet Brockett, his loving companion.
He is preceded in death by Craig Redmond, his best friend whom he loved like a brother, and by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Lena Smith.
A casual gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Friday, June 30th, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at the First Baptist Church, 85 West Jefferson Street Jefferson, Ohio 44047.
