William Ray Bowler, 71 years old passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024 after battling with an infection from a serious fall. He was born in Geneva, Ohio on November 10, 1952 the son of Raymond and Marion Bowler.
Bill was very active in his community, he was the president of the Harpersfield Volunteer Fire department, assisting with the beef roast yearly. He also volunteered at the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department, the Northwest Ambulance District where he was the volunteer president, Share your Christmas for 24 years, PWP of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2243, and Geneva Masonic Lodge. Bill was a retired laborer, and president of Local Laborers #496. He enjoyed wood carving, camping at Kenisee and KOA Tennessee.
Bill was an avid family man, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He adored his 2 dogs and cat who he rescued. His favorite place to be was at home next to the love of his life Kathy reminiscing about all the life experiences they’ve shared. He also loved stopping into the Fraternal Orders of eagles for a cocktail or two.
William is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen; his children: Beth Bowler, Julia Bowler and Kimberly (Bill) Buskirk; grandchildren: Nicole Buskirk, Emily Buskirk, Zachary Buskirk, and Will Gonzalez; his great grandchildren: Kassie Tapia, Raymond and Armani Askew; his sister, Nancy Terlosky and serval nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son William Ray II in infancy, sister, Barbra Baker and his great grandson, Mason William Tapia.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 22nd from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with funeral service to begin at 6:00pm at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home 323 South Broadway Geneva, Ohio. Dinner will be held following the service at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2243 120 Depot St Geneva, Ohio 44041. Memorial contributions can be made out to A Special Wish Foundation Cleveland Chapter in his great grandson’s name, Mason.
