Wayne "Bob" R. Jones

Wayne “Bob” R. Jones, 82, passed away on May 14, 2025 at Geauga Medical Center. 

He was born on January 14, 1943, in Phoenixville, PA, the son of Wayne and Eleanor (Werner) Jones.

On October 5, 1969, Wayne married Olivia "Libby" Rapp; and together they were blessed with 55 years of marriage and a beautiful family.  Bob was always in sales; with the vast majority of his working life he sold musical instruments and at one time was the proud owner of The Music Shop in Missouri. A talented musician with a passion for both the organ and guitar, Bob frequently performed at churches, car shows, senior centers, and nursing homes just to name a few. He also recorded five gospel albums; sharing his faith and musical gifts with others was one of his favorite passions.

Bob was a member of Country Bible Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Jones; his children: Robert Jones, Christopher (Michelle) Jones, Randall Jones, Richard (Jennifer) Jones, Christine Juliff, and Andrea Kaufman; his grandchildren: Brittany (Steve) Vranic, Krista, Gabby, Brandon, Maria, Christopher, Aubree, Matthew, Nathan, Noelle, Sophia, and Kaylee; his great-grandchildren: Carter, Dexter, and Jayden; his siblings: Sandy Baker, Patty Nailor, Barbara Vickis, David (Debbie) Jones, Rick Jones, and Connie (Al) Moore; as well as cousins Tracie Schmehel and Robbie Schmehel, with whom he was especially close.

Bob was preceded in death by his grandson Alexander, his brother Roger “Butch” Warner, and his parents.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 49 W Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio. Bob will be laid to rest in Rome Center Cemetery following the services.  A memorial luncheon will follow at the Austinburg Town Hall
