Tyrone Brown

Tyrone Brown, 68, passed away on October 10, 2023, at the Austinburg Rehabilitation Center in Austinburg, Ohio.

He was born on September 1, 1955, in Lewisville, Mississippi, the son of George W. and Dorothy L. (Gardner) Brown.

Tyrone was a member of the Merchant Marines where he proudly served his country for several years.

After graduating from high school, he continued with his education by attending college for two additional years.

Tyrone was a truck driver who worked for various companies over his many years of employment.

Tyrone was survived by his siblings: Leon Brown, Jack (Betty) Brown, Lacotta (Dorry) Brown, Harriett Murff, W. Doris (Elder Jack) Mitchell and Dena B. Brown; his aunt, Hattie Gardner Miller; his
daughter, Ashley Dowell; his grandchildren, Giovanni Dowell and Michael Dowell, Jr.; his nine nephews; his ten nieces; a host of many great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy Brown; his siblings: Georgia Brown, Rose Brown and Alice Rose Brown; his brother-in-law, Carnell Murff and his son, Michael Dowell.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 10:30a – 11:00a with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00a at the Jefferson Community Church of God in Christ, 1381 State Route 167 in Jefferson, Ohio. Burial to follow the funeral service at Rock Creek Cemetery.
