Tony J. Rich

Tony Rich, father of Craig and Mark Rich and stepfather of Eric Hutzell, and Tina and Kenny Ridenour, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Ashtabula on January 9, 1950, the son of Joseph and Emily (Scardino) Rich.

Tony loved the Lord and was passionate about sharing his faith with others. Despite his physical struggles, he faithfully handed out hundreds of Bible tracts wherever he went. He was a devoted attendee of church and Bible studies and willingly volunteered his time to serve both his church and his community.

He was deeply loved by his grandchildren, Briana Hawkins and Ian Ridenour, who could always count on their Papa to spoil them with treats and affection.

Tony will also be dearly missed by his sister, Ursula Notarianni.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emily, and his brothers, Dominic, Joe, Tommy, and Richard.

Tony requested no services, and while his wishes will be respected, his family encourages all who knew him to take a moment for reflection: Are you ready to stand before God when He calls you? Tony loved the Lord, prayed for many, and while he is now welcomed into heaven by countless brothers and sisters in Christ, he would have wanted nothing more than to spend eternity with those he knew and loved here on earth.

Tony shared nearly forty years of marriage with his beloved wife Debi, a life filled with love, faith, and joy; along with their mutual love and devotion to the Lord. He is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her.
