Thomas A. Long, 87, passed away on March 9th, 2023, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, Ohio.
He was born on May 15th, 1935, in Red House, West Virginia, the son of Arthur and Velma (Lowe) Long.
On February 27th, 1960, Tommarried the love of his life, Carol Ann Drum; they recently celebrated sixty-three years of marriage; they were blessed with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a lifetime of the most incredible family memories that will last them all a lifetime.
Tom worked as a foreman for a Tool Die Engineering Company in Solon, Ohio for twenty-five years before retiring in 1992. He also worked at Manor’s Tree Farm and Holiday Camp Land giving hayrides during the fall and winter holiday seasons, he enjoyed that job so very much because of his love for his draft horses, the holidays, and the joy it gave families to go on a good old-fashioned hayride.
He enjoyed sewing, making maple syrup, and tending to his egg farm. Tom’s true source of joy and happiness came from spending time with his family, especially being able to watch his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. He was a “big-kid at heart” and was so proud of the family he was blessed to have.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Long; his children: Debbi (Charlie) Lynagh and Lynn (Randy) Reeve; his grandchildren: Chad Lynagh, Cari (Colton) Braden, Tom Reeve and Christa (Matt) Kempinski and his great-grandchildren: Clayton and Audrey Kempinski; and his siblings: Becky Wright, Charlotte Thomas and Freda Uncapher;
