Thelma Carpenter Obituary

Thelma Carpenter 88, went to be with the Lord August 31 at home, following a brief illness.  She was born in Emma, KY to John Lee and Mini (Davis) Hall.

Thelma was born one of 12 siblings.  She was the owner of The Flower Pantry in Ashtabula, Ohio up until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and creating flower gardens.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Russel Hall, Luther Hall, Joe Hall, Aaron Hall, Elva Hall, Kelly Hall, Fannie Mae Couch, Trenny Shepard, Pearl Tackett, and Doris Brewer; sons Jerry M. Newsome and Barry E. Newsome; late husband, Buell Licklider and former husband, Earl Newsome.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 31 years, Eugene Carpenter; son Jeffrey Newsome, daughters, Kathy A. Newsome (Toribio) and Linda J Newsome (Delano); step-children Gene W. Carpenter, Cynthia J. Burckhartte, Elizabeth L. Kinnison and Tammy Bowman; grandchildren Tammy Rubino, Barry Newsome, Gregory Newsome, Adam Newsome and Mary Newsome; great grandchildren Andrew Rubino, Alex Newsome, Xavier Moss-Newsome, and great grandchild, Andrew Rubino II.

A graveside service will be Thursday (September 3rd) at 11:00 am at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating.

Visitation will be from Wednesday (September 2nd) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming 7 Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula

If attending graveside service and visitation  face masks and social distancing guidelines are required.
