Shirlee Ann Lawrence

Shirlee Ann Lawrence, 81, passed away peacefully at the Villa at the Lake Living Center In Conneaut, Ohio, on May 19, 2025.

She was born in Ashtabula on April 30, 1944, the daughter of John and Carmel (Matrisciano) Cusano.

Shirlee was a 1962 graduate of Ashtabula High School. She was a nurse's aide in the labor and delivery department at the Ashtabula General Hospital/A.C.M.C for over 20 years. On January 31, 1964, she married Thomas Lawrence, her loving and devoted husband of 55 years.

She was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church, the Anita Garibaldi Lodge, and the Mia Cara Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting as well as going to car shows with her husband. Shirlee centered her life around her children and grandchildren, because to her, family was everything. She was a kindhearted, loving mother and grandmother and she will be missed dearly.

She survived by her loving family; her children: Kelly (Bart) Kanicki, Timothy (Valerie) Lawrence, and Marissa (Doug) Kenny; her grandchildren: Tori and Cody Kanicki, Tabitha (Josh) Searles, Matthew (Lauren) Krause, and Aaron (Noelle) Lawrence; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, in 2019, and her siblings: Lou Zoratti, Marge Burton, Josephine Zoratti and Dominic Cusano.

In honor of Shirlee's wishes, no public funeral services will be held. She will be laid to rest in her family's gravesite in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
