Sandra D. (Phillips) Vanek

Sandra D. Vanek, age 56, Morgan Twp., died Saturday evening at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.

She was born July 10, 1962 in Barberton, the daughter of Robert & Patricia (Roberts) Phillips and has been an area resident all of her life.  Sandra was married to Ronald J. Vanek on November 7, 1985 in Jefferson.  Her employment included Steven’s Coin Laundry in Jefferson and more recently at Meadow Beauty Nursery in Madison.

Sandra loved being a “Grandma”.  She loved tinkering and working on cars, she could fix about anything.  Gardening and spending time with her animals were always an enjoyable pastime.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald; two children, Erica (Eric) Hudson of Austinburg & Ronald (Amy Truckey) Vanek of Rock Creek; a granddaughter, Morgan Rose Hudson; her parents, Robert (Rita) Phillips of Zephyr Hills, FL & Patricia Block of Geneva; a brother, Robert Phillips of Geneva; a sister, Cindy Phillips in Texas; two sister-in-laws, Lorry Howard of Austinburg & Missy Fogarty of Rock Creek and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Donald Block; her mother and father-in-law, Betty & Ronald Vanek and a sister-in-law, Robin Vanek.
