Ruby Burrows, 79, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, at Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio.
She was born on May 5, 1944, in Kanawha Head, West Virginia, the daughter of Guy A. and Melba (Duffy) Ware.
On January 14, 1972, Ruby married the love of her life, Donald Burrows; they shared fifty-one years of wonderful marriage together.
Ruby worked at the Ashtabula County Medical Center for more than twenty years, she held several different positions during her time there; she was a Patient Representative in the Emergency Department as well as a switchboard operator. She also worked at Carlisle’s in the jewelry department.
She attended Pentecostal Community Church in Jefferson. She was a member of the Glenn Wayne and the Country Renditions band where she sang and played the bass guitar.
Ruby enjoyed country music, puzzles and diamond art. Her greatest source of joy and happiness came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren to whom she adored.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald; her children: Rodney K. (Tammie) Riley, Taunya R. (Timothy) Smock and Michelle D. (Larry) Otto; her grandchildren: “R.J.” Riley (Morgan Loza), Adam Spangler (Audrey Swihart), Ashley Spangler, Cameron Wilfong, Christopher and Brandon (Connie) Otto and her great-grandchildren, Rynlee, David and Landon.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be held on October 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Pentecostal Community Church in Jefferson, Ohio. Light snacks and coffee will be served after the service for those who wish to stay.
