Roger E. Harnist, age 59, died late Tuesday evening at Hillcrest Hospital in Cleveland after unexpectedly suffering severe medical issues in the past three weeks.
He was born March 16, 1962 in Ashtabula, the son of William F. & Ora Leroy (Fisher) Harnist and has resided in this area most of his life. Roger was an oil field serviceman with Petro Water. Roger’s interests and involvements was doing yard work, motorcycles, bon fires with friends, and enjoying life and his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.
Survivors include his companion, Maureen “Moe” Adams, special friend he considered as a daughter, Kaitlyn Shahan; two children, Mandy Ann (Mark) Richards & Matthew Allen Harnist; six grandchildren, Jesse Allen Harnist, Hannah Elise, Juliette Rose & Logan Alexander Richards & Aubree Rose Harnist; sisters, Linda Harnist & Susan Hudson and brothers, William “Sonny” Harnist & Lou Zinsky.
His parents; a sister, May Harnist and a nephew, Richard Byers all preceded him in death.
