Robert "Bob" Marrison Obituary

Robert “Bob” Neil Marrison, 82, of New Lyme, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2026. Born July 12, 1944, on his family’s dairy farm in New Lyme, he was the son of Levi Edward and Clara E. (Viton) Marrison. A lifelong resident of New Lyme Township, Bob attended New Lyme Deming School for 11 years and graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School in 1962. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1966, where he served in the Air Force ROTC, and married Adrienne K. Labrousse on June 25, 1967. Bob began his career teaching general science at the middle school in New Lyme before teaching vocational agriculture at Pymatuning Valley High School from 1967 to 1974. He then devoted himself full time to the farm he and Adrienne had purchased in 1968. For 56 years, he raised crops at Golden Maise Farm, continuing until he suffered a stroke at age 80. Beginning in 1974, Bob also served as a Pioneer Seeds sales representative, working with area farmers for 50 years. Deeply committed to his community, he belonged to Jefferson Grange #1311 for 65 years and was a member of the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau. He served New Lyme Township as a trustee for 22½ years, chairing monthly meetings, assisting with road maintenance, and snowplowing. His faith was central to his life. Bob was a member of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church for 68 years, served on its church board, and later attended Bethel Bible Church in Jefferson, Ohio. During winters in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, he and Adrienne attended Destiny Worship Center. Over their 55 years of marriage, Bob and Adrienne traveled overseas and throughout the United States. He enjoyed history, reading, watching movies, and time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. God, family, and helping others mattered most to Bob. His wit and sense of humor brought joy to those around him, while his steadfast work ethic and willingness to serve blessed his family, church, and community. The last 2 years he faced the effects of a debilitating stroke with courage living faithfully in service to God and to others and endured with grace until his passing.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ida Mae Callendar Creed Marrison; his brothers, Lester C. and Melvin E.; his stepsister, Marcia A. Viglione; and his beloved wife, Adrienne Kay. He is survived by his stepsisters, Judy E. Eager of Ashtabula Township and Nancy L. Louden of Kingsville Township; his sisters-in-law, Ann Marrison and Evelyn Zaebst of New Lyme, and Emily Kobialko of Andover; his children, Brian (Tammy) Marrison of New Lyme and Marisa (Tim) Farnsworth of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and his grandchildren, Nathanael, Amanda, Caleb, Silas, and August Marrison, and Hannah, Ethan, and Clara Farnsworth. He also leaves many nieces and nephews whose lives were touched by his love and example.
