Robert Edward Richcreek

Robert Edward Richcreek, 86, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2026, following a long illness.

Born September 16, 1939, in Pierpont, Ohio, he was the son of Dale and Daisy (Hughes) Richcreek. A proud member of the Pierpont High School Class of 1958, Bob carried his small-town roots with him throughout his life, never wavering in his love for the place he called home.

On July 8, 1961, Bob married his one and only true love, Darla Brown. Together, they shared 65 years of unwavering love, partnership, and friendship—building a life centered on family, faith, and devotion to one another.

To say Bob loved Pierpont would hardly capture the depth of his commitment. He was woven into the very fabric of the town. As the longtime owner and operator of Richcreek’s Service Station, he created more than a place for fuel and repairs—it became a gathering place, the heartbeat of the community, where neighbors stopped in not only for service, but for conversation, laughter, and connection. It was a place where everyone felt welcome, and where Bob made each person feel like family.

His service to Pierpont extended far beyond his business. Bob faithfully served as a Pierpont Township Trustee for 48 years, dedicating himself to the well-being and progress of the community he loved so deeply. He also served on numerous local committees, worked as the cemetery sexton, and even stepped in as a substitute mail carrier to ensure his friends and neighbors never went without. There was no task too small if it meant helping someone else. Known for his tireless work ethic, generous spirit, and steady presence, Bob will be remembered as one of the hardest-working and most selfless men Pierpont has ever known.

At the center of his life was his family. Bob loved them with his whole heart and worked tirelessly to provide for them. They were his greatest pride and the source of his deepest joy.  Bob was also an animal lover, he never had time for hobbies but he always had time for his pets.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darla; and his children, Tamara Richcreek, Ben Richcreek, and Dana (Clarissa) Richcreek.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Florence Gregg; and his beloved grandson, Adam Richcreek.

Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
