Robert B. Hembree Sr.

Robert B. Hembree Sr., 85, passed away on October 18, 2025, at Jefferson Healthcare.

He was born on August 19, 1940, in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of Joseph and Dollie (Jackson) Hembree. Robert worked for many years in the custodial department for the Fayette County Schools before joining the University of Kentucky’s facility maintenance department. He had a love of antique cars and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.

Robert is survived by his sons, Robert (Carole) Hembree Jr. and Steve (Pamela) Hembree, both of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Nathanael Hembree, Elizabeth Hembree, Katie (A.J. Shearer) Hembree, Megan Hembree, and Clarence Miller.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Doris Lynn Hembree, in 2013, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson St., followed by burial at Oakdale Cemetery.
