Ricky D. Ward, age 67, Dorset, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday while at his work.
He was born January 3, 1953 in Ashtabula, the son of Iwo Charles & Iva M. (Foster) Ward and has resided in Ashtabula Co. all of his life other than spending a short time in Florida. Rick was a truck driver for Centerra Co-Op. He also owned and operated BAR-D Farm in Dorset. Rick was also a Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. (Miller) Ward; three children, Adam D. Ward & Daniel T. Ward, both of Ashtabula and Miranda B. (Ward) Sanchez at Ft. Bragg, NC; three step-sons, James (Traci) Dean of Lenox Twp., Kevin (Gloria) Dean of Dorset Twp. & Terry Dean of Pierpont Twp.; two grandchildren, Lucille & David; five step-grandchildren, Devon, Jared, Kala, Dakota & Jesse and three siblings, Gary (Lillian) Rooney of Shelby Twp., MI, Gail (Arnie) Miller of Bay City, MI & Carol Sue (Kirk) O’Keefe of Leesburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clifford, Robert & David Ward.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-3 PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.
