Randy C. Johnson
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - Randy C. Johnson, 60, passed away on June 24, 2021 at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center following a very brief illness.
He was born on March 24, 1961 in the Ashtabula General Hospital the son of Albert and Ethel (Frazee) Johnson.
Randy was a 1979 graduate of Harbor High School.
In 1980 Randy enlisted in the US Army and very proudly served his country. Randy's patriotism and pride for his country was something that was near and dear to his heart every day of his life. As the son, brother and uncle of fellow US Veterans his desire to always help and volunteer to organizations that serve his fellow veterans was very important to him. He served as Commander of the Ashtabula Army-Navy Union #411 and was also a lifetime member there. He has also served as the Ohio State Commander of the Army-Navy Union and was a 20 year member of the Ashtabula Eagles #1463.
Randy has always been a very hard worker, he worked for Gabriel Performance Products in their maintenance department for the past 11 years.
On August 24, 2002 Randy married Christina (Chiesa), the love of his life.
The only thing that was really more important to Randy than the love for his country was the love he had for his family. His wife, daughters, grandkids and siblings were his life. He was a man that would do anything for someone in need. He kept busy with veteran events and activities, fishing, he enjoyed bird watching, working around the house and he loved his animals: his 2 dogs, three cats and his turtle. The thing he really enjoyed the most as he grew older was being a "Papa", his grandkids completely stole his heart.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife Tina; his daughters Danielle McGee and Jenni McGee; his grandkids: Jayden, Onna, Davion and Lamont; his brother Scott (Jennifer) Johnson; his nieces: Jessica (Louis) Pillajo, Christine Johnson and Nicole (Seth) Duke and his longtime friend Frank Puglisi, who was like a big brother to his wife Tina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Darlene Wiechowski.
Services to celebrate Randy's Life will be held on Saturday July 3, 2021 at the Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
