Randall Thomas Cotton
Randall “Randy” Thomas Cotton, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and children, after an almost year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on July 12, 1959, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Harry “Dutch” and Barbra (Maynard) Cotton. Randy graduated from Harbor High School in 1977 and went on to Ferrier School, where his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit first took root.
He built his life around hard work and determination — qualities that defined him from his earliest days.
His first venture in 1980 was Cotton’s Horse & Home, which was followed in 1990 when he founded Circle C Poured Walls, and in 2002, he launched Ashtabula Concrete Inc. (ACI) in Saybrook, which he ran successfully until his retirement in 2014. Whether it was on a job site or managing his team, Randy approached each day with purpose and pride, always believing that doing things the right way mattered most.
On January 25, 1997, Randy married the one true love of his life, Sally “Roni” Wagner. Their marriage was built on devotion, laughter, hard work, and shared dreams — a partnership that spanned nearly three decades and brought them their greatest joys: their children and grandchildren. Family was the center of Randy’s world. No matter how long the workday, he always made time for the ones he loved most.
As life went on, his drive to succeed shifted naturally toward his greatest role — being a father and coach. He poured the same energy and commitment from his business into coaching his children’s teams. Baseball and softball were family affairs, and Randy’s leadership in Jefferson Area Little League spanned more than 20 years, including many as president. Later, he and Roni shared a love of Pickleball and travel, spending the past five winters together in Florida.
Randy was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jefferson.
He will forever be remembered for his integrity, tireless work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. To those who knew him, Randy was more than a hardworking man — he was a loyal friend, a loving husband and father, and a proud grandfather who found his truest happiness in the lives he helped build.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife, Roni Cotton; his mother, Barbra; his children, Ryan (Jessica) Cotton, Lindsey (Mike) Elly, Brent Cotton, and Taylor Cotton; and his cherished grandchildren, Dylan,Abby, R.J and Colton. He is also survived by his sister, Pam (Greg) Bloom.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry “Dutch” Cotton, in 2013.
