Jefferson, Ohio — Phillip Lee Johnson, 56, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
He was born on February 5, 1970, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Lee and Hannah (Hatfield) Johnson.
Phil was a proud member of the Jefferson High School Class of 1988. Shortly after graduation, he began his lifelong career as an electrician. He worked with the IBEW Local #673 before following his dream of starting his own business, Quick Connect Electric.
On May 3, 1997, Philip married the love of his life, Vickie (Wilkes) Johnson. For 29 wonderful years, they shared a deep and enduring bond, raising their family together and building a life filled with laughter, devotion, and love.
Phil had many passions that reflected his adventurous and creative spirit. He loved playing softball, strumming his guitar, and taking long rides on his Harley-Davidson. He also enjoyed flying RC helicopters and drones. There wasn’t anything Phil couldn’t fix, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Those who knew him will always remember his generous heart, his quick wit, and his infectious sense of humor.
Above all, Phil treasured his family. They were his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. His love for them was boundless, and he made sure they always knew how much they meant to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie; his sons, Cory Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Jacob (Morgan Brown) Johnson, and Robbie Gates; his daughters, Tina Knapp and Michelle Rapose; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his beloved sister, Lisa (Ed Bryski) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Justin Kehres, in 2023.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Oakdale Cemetery at a later date.
