Paul J. “Dick” Mullen, 82, passed away on April 7, 2023, in his home in Jefferson, Ohio, with his family and friends by his side.
He was born on May 1, 1940, in Ashtabula, the son of David and Pearl (White) Mullen.
Dick was a member of Jefferson High School’s Class of 1958. He loved our country and he very proudly and honorably served in the US Army.
Dick married Carolyn Lenart on April 25, 1987; they shared thirty-five wonderful years of marriage together and created memories that will last a lifetime.
He dedicated 44 years of his life to Molded Fiber Glass before retiring in 2007. He went on to do consulting work in the fiberglass industry for 7 more years until finally retiring in 2014.
Dick was a former partner and member of Hickory Grove Golf Course; he loved playing golf and had two holes-in-one that he was also very proud of. He also enjoyed doing yard work and was a lifelong fan of Cleveland’s sports teams; the Cavaliers, Browns and Indians. He was always such a fun and kind-hearted husband, dad, and papa. If he was with his family, he was happy; and he was so proud of each and every one of them and loved them with all of his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his beloved children: Janet (Mark) Szekely, Lori (Jeff) Zebrasky, Becky (Ed) Paneto, Todd Mullen, Tami Mullen-Stone, Tricia (Billy) Hoplight and his step-son, Matt (Fabiola) Cole; his fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, that he absolutely adored; his siblings: David (Nancy) Mullen, Linda (Steve) Kupstas, Vivajean (Craig) Ketola and Leslie Mullen; as well as his many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Skeeter.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Vickie Mullen in 1988; his brothers, Tim Mullen and Russ Mullen and his sister’s, Pat Archibald and Kathy Werstler.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 and Thursday morning from 10:00a-11:00a prior to the 11:00 funeral service; with Military Honors to follow; all the services will be at the Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio.
