Nicholas J. Petti

Nicholas J. Petti, 76, passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2024, at his home in Ashtabula. Nick was born on June 19, 1947, the son of Joseph and Olga (Melarango) Petti. Nick graduated class of 1965 from Cleveland Heights High School. He went on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1970. Nick was enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1970, where he proudly served his country until his retirement in 1987. He married the love of his life, Susan Stevens on April 13, 1996, spending over 27 years together. Nick was a member of toastmasters International, a leadership and communication organization, where he earned 4 Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) awards for excellence in communication. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid animal lover. Nick will be remembered for being a dedicated husband and family man. Nicholas is survived by his wife, Susan Petti; sister, Marietta (Robert) Simone; his nephews, Bob (Sarah Fletcher) Simone and Anthony Simone; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14 from 11:00-12:00 at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home 526 W Prospect Rd, Ashtabula, Ohio. Funeral service begins at 12:00pm. Nick will be laid to rest at Edgewood Cemetery where he will receive military honors.
