Mary E. Starkey

Mary E Starkey, 95, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Geneva, Ohio on April 18, 1930, to Floyd & Ellen Starkey, the 5th of 8 children. She graduated high school in 1948. After graduation she entered the job market working at True Temper until they closed and then for Madison Healthcare until she retired at the age of 89. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling, reading & watching old movies. She looked forward to her monthly lunches with her friends at Mary’s Diner. She also liked going out to dinner at Lakeway Restaurant in Ashtabula Harbor. She was a member of Geneva Methodist Church for many years and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed family vacations to Myrtle Beach and especially loved visiting Williamsburg Va. Mary lived a life full of love and devotion to her family and friends. She was an integral part of each of her brother & sister’s families & her nieces & nephews’ lives. She will be remembered and celebrated by everyone that was blessed to know her. She is survived by her loving sisters, Lois Stanton & Ruth Ann Hiner (Denny). And her sister-in-law, Ruth Starkey along with 24 loving nieces & nephews: Bob, Nancy, Amy, Jeff, Debbie, Dalt, Diane, Donna, Mike, Pat, Tim, Tom, Sam, Jenny, Pam, Keith, Kevin, Brad, Jane, Tracey, Matt, Kirk, Brett, and Krista; and even more great nieces & great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Betty Kennedy. Her brothers, Floyd Jr., George, William & Bruce. Her brothers in law, R. Chester Kennedy & Harry Stanton. Her sisters in law, Lila Starkey, Eleanor Starkey & Ellie Starkey. And her nieces Becky Kennedy & Deidre Williams; and a nephew Billy Starkey. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family. Services are Friday, August 8th at 2pm at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva, Ohio.
