Mary Jackson Obituary

Mary Blanche Jackson passed into her eternal home on December 8, 2021 at U.H. Conneaut Medical Center, surrounded by family.

She was the only daughter among five sons of Marcario and Josefa (Galnares) Gutierrez, born in McQueeney, Texas, on April 24, 1938.

Mary was wed to Joseph Jackson, the love of her life, on October 24, 1959 at St. Mary’s on the lake in Manitou Beach, Michigan.

Mary attended nursing school at Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio.  She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She attended Bible study at Bulah United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Joseph Calasanctius Parrish, where she taught catechism for several years.

Her biggest joy in life was her family and she loved spending time with them.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, sewing, antiquing, and creating beautiful quilts.  She leaves behind a legacy of generosity and ministering to others in need.  Her life was a ray of Christ’s light to those around her and in her role as loving matriarch, taught her family to do the same.  She was a good and faithful servant of Jesus and the church and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Joseph, her children J. Daniel Jackson, Robert L. (Lisa) Jackson, John A. Jackson (Peggy Huffman), Celeste M. (Mark) Fenton, all of Pierpont and Sarah L. (David) Bogardus of Andover, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clementino Gutierrez, Ben Gutierrez, Angelo Gutierrez, and Macario Gutierrez.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her son Patrick Jackson, grandson Jeffrey Jackson, great-granddaughter Lilah Truszkowski, and a brother Louis Gutierrez.

Friends and family may call on Friday, December 10, 2021, 3:30PM-6:30PM at St. Andrews Parrish in Kingsville, Ohio.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday Dec 11, 2021 at St. Andrew’s. Burial will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.
