Mary Jane Gasho, age 95, longtime Jefferson resident, died Friday afternoon at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.
She was born June 18, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Charles & Isabell (Bolte) Metzler. Mary Jane was a 1943 Jefferson High School graduate and was married to Lloyd M. Gasho on February 9, 1945 in Covington, KY.
Mary Jane worked several years in the meat department at Bowdler’s Stop & Shop and was also a custodian at Jefferson Elementary School for many years. She enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling and loved to cook and bake.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Glen) Carlson in Arizona, Linda Gasho in Roaming Shores & Robin (Pat Parsons) Cottrell in Jefferson; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren & one great-great-grandson.
Her parents and husband, Lloyd in 2010 preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be announced and held at a later date in Oakdale Cemetery.
