Mary J. Colflesh, 87 of Ashtabula died Tuesday (Feb. 25th) at the Cardinal Woods Nursing Home in Madison, Oho. She was born March 18, 1932 in Sagertown, Pa the daughter of Lewis and Martha (Wenger) Knox.
She had worked for Iten Industries and also for Broadfield Nursing Home and Cardinal Woods Nursing Home.
She is a member of the Edgewood Church of the Nazarene and also was an active member of the Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Lake Erie Chapter #10 Order of Eastern Star.
She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, word searches, blue grass music and she was excellent at embroidering. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving her are four children, Dale W. Colflesh of Ashtabula, Roberta Fell of Ponte Verde Beach, Florida, Joyce Humphrey of Ashtabula and Mary Jo (Greg) Braden of Jefferson, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kourtney Kelner, Jeffrey Brunty, Jr. and Brandon Braden; six great grandchildren with one more on the way and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Edward D. Knox and Charles Knox Brown
Funeral service will be Friday (Feb. 28th) at 11:00 am at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Jan Walsh of the New Leaf United Methodist Church and Rev. Kevin Ellis of the Edgewood Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
