Mary Ann (Tobias) Bodecker

Mary Ann (Tobias) Bodecker, 82, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022, at her home in Ashtabula Township, Ohio.

She was born on February 9, 1940, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Lee and Rose (Sandella) Tobias.

On October 31, 1989, she married Leroy Bodecker, they shared seven wonderful years of marriage together before his passing in 1996.

Mary proudly worked at the Animal Protective League in Ashtabula for thirty-five years; she loved all kinds of animals and made it her life’s work to care for them.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, crossword puzzles and everything Elvis. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Church in Ashtabula.

Mary is survived by her loving children: Mark Pirigyi, Mary Pirigyi, Louie (Lola) Pirigyi, Gloria (Doug) Ellzey, Peggy Westlake, Tina (David Campbell) Bodecker and Leroy Bodecker; her seven grandchildren; her 6 great grandchildren; her sister, JoAnn Henry and her loving friend and companion, Herbert “Skip” Hawkins.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Rosella Campbell.

A graveside burial will tale place on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in North Kingsville, Ohio.
