Marie Cimorell of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on October 25, 2021, at her home, with her family right by her side.
She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of Louie and Rose (Antonucci) Verdi.
Marie started dancing when she was four years old and later in life danced professionally for many years.
Marie married Edward Cimorell and together they opened and operated Sesco Electronics for over 50 years. Marie was active in the Ashtabula City Schools, she served as President of the PTA and PTO for over 10 years. She was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Peace - Mt. Carmel Church; she was a Eucharistic Minister for 35 years and was chairperson of the Primary Raffle at the Mt. Carmel Festival for 35 years; as well as serving on Parish Council for many years. Marie always said that the people at Mt. Carmel were like her extended family. Her son Bret, and her granddaughters Brianna and Brooke were the loves of her life; she loved them more than anything in this world, and with all her heart. Her passing is one that will be felt by many in this community, due to the great love she had and received from for all those with whom she was in contact with during her lifetime. She was a mother to all who knew her. And, her ability to give great advice with a smile, her kind and loving heart, and a warm hug for all her family and friends will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her son, Bret Cimorell; her granddaughters: Brianna and Brooke Cimorell, Maria Fowler who Marie loved as her daughter, and Jon Love who she referred to as “Son II”. She is also survived by her many nephews and nieces who she loved very dearly.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband Edward Cimorell in 1985, and brothers: Sylvio, Joseph, Mario, Louie, and Don Verdi.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula from 4:00-7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st Street Ashtabula. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the church. Marie has been so worried for all her family and friends since this pandemic has started and the family requests masks be worn to reduce the risk of anyone she cares about getting sick.
