She was raised in Ashtabula where she graduated from Ashtabula High School. After graduation, Marie worked at the Ashtabula Star Beacon where she met her future husband, Richard Blood. As the boys grew older, she returned to work at JCPenney and retired after nearly 30 years of service.
Marie’s loving nature was witnessed by all who met her. She was a dedicated wife for 55 years and mother who took great pride in her family. Marie was a very active member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Marie loved to serve the church with her favorite pastime cooking and baking for many church functions over the years. Her joy was cooking for family and church gatherings. Marie was a loving grandmother always quick to offer her grandkids something sweet from her kitchen.
Surviving her are her three loving sons: Michael R. (Kristi) Blood of Plymouth Township, Steven P. (Norma) Blood of Georgetown, Texas, and Bryan J. Blood (fiancé Heidi Nelling) of Ashtabula, Ohio; six grandchildren that she absolutely adored: Spence, Averi, Jacob, Kassidy, Elliana, and Nathan; and her siblings, whom she was very close with; Janet (Leo) Caruso and Ralph (Susan) Mongenel.
She was preceded in death by her husband on August 8, 2021 and her parents.
