Lola (Clark) Glover was born on February 28, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on May 26, 2024, at the Holy Family Hospice in Parma, Ohio. Lola was the last living child of the late, Henry and Emma (Williams) Clark, who were long time residents of Jefferson, Ohio. Lola had a long, successful career with the United States Postal Service, servicing the Bedford, Ohio area. One of her highest accomplishments she was extremely proud of was becoming one of the first, if not “the first”, female African American manager at the Bedford post. Lola converted to Catholicism while in elementary school and was a devout Catholic throughout her adult life. She raised all five of her children in the Catholic faith and attended St. Mary Parish in Berea and Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church in Middleburg Heights. Lola enjoyed playing the organ, traveling, painting. and helping and spending time with others, especially her family. Lola is survived by her loving children: Sharon McWhorter, Michael T. McWhorter, Terrance P. Sharpe, Christopher Sharpe, and Milinda May; her grandchildren: Malik McWhorter, LaShonda Hutchinson-Lee, Francine
McWhorter, Michael Sharpe, Brandon Wright, Jacob Santi, Isaiah May, Jeremiah May, and Elijah May; as well as her great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lola was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Eloise Bolden, Thelma Hale, Helen Clark, Cicero Clark and Delores Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11:00a-12:00p with a funeral Mass to follow at 12:00p at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, Ohio. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Holy Family Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care during Lola’s final days.
