LeRoy R. Peters passed away July 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 3, 1935 in Albion, PA to Frank and Ruby (Barton) Peters. He was employed for 30 years at True Temper Corporation in Saybrook, retiring in 1983. As LeRoy loved staying busy, he returned to work as an Independent Truck driver working across Northeast Ohio for various construction contractors retiring again in 2005. He loved working with his hands restoring cars, trucks and tractors; riding and caring for his horse Shan and his German Shepard dogs.
On January 17, 1970, he married his best friend and love of his life Evelyn Hines Mills to combine his four children and her four children; together they had one daughter, Debra.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Debra (Scott) Burke, Dora (Joe Papotta), Roxanne (Glen) Whitney, Daniel (Bonnie) and Kim (Kenneth Sr) Peters, Joseph (Lori), Randall, Douglas and Lawrence (Jodi) Mills; siblings Helen DiAsio, Nyla Warner, Norlene Toth, Ronald, Richard and Howard Spore. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather Clarence Spore and son Kenneth Peters, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson Street in Jefferson, Ohio 44047; the Pierpont Relief Lodge #284 will conduct Masonic Funeral Rites at 6:45p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the mausoleum chapel at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in N. Kingsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations directed to Saybrook Landing Health and Rehabilitation Activities or Physical Therapy Dept at 2300 Center Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004 as a thank you to kind and loving staff.
