Lawrence E. Willis Jr., 56, passed away on November 4, 2024 in his home after a brave battle with cancer.
Larry was born on April 5, 1968 in Ashtabula, to Lawrence and Elaine (Allcock) Willis.
Little brother, uncle, friend, cat dad and all around great guy. He always had a joke and a smile. He enjoyed the simple things. Larry was an avid sports fan, he never gave up on the Browns! He proudly celebrated 10 years of sobriety in 2024. Larry took great pride in his work at King Luminaire in Jefferson, Ohio, where he received several awards; including the Gold Standard Hero Award in May of 2021. Friends, old and new were important to Larry. Most important to Larry was his cat, Shadow. Shadow received the best care and provided companionship to Larry for several years. Special thank you to James and Eve Cusano for taking Shadow and providing him with a loving home now that Larry is gone. The family would also like to thank Mike Patterson and Tom Dunham for their steadfast friendship and care during Larry’s last days.
Lawrence is survived by 3 sisters: Robin Arnett, Lisa Hakala- Busser and Dawn Willis. He was an uncle to Shane Ellis, Dustin Arnett, Alexandria Hakala, Christie Ellis, Ricky Hakala and Hannah Hakala.
As Larry would say “Kewl”.
