Laurie "Sunny" Supplee Obituary

Laurie Ann “Sunny” Supplee

Lenox Township — Laurie Ann “Sunny” Supplee passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her home on September 15, 2026.

Sunny was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on November 24, 1962, the daughter of Lew G. Bump and Sandra (Mederios) McCaffrey. She was proud of her Native American heritage and carried that pride as an important part of who she was. Sunny graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational and Technical High School in 1980.

At the age of 21, Sunny received what she considered the greatest gift of her life: the birth of her only child, her daughter, Jessica Lee. Being Jessica’s mother was the role she cherished most. Sunny worked tirelessly through the years to provide for her daughter and to be the best mother she could be. She loved Jessica deeply, admired the woman she became, and although she was sometimes quiet about how she felt, she took tremendous pride in her life. The bond they shared was one of the greatest joys of Sunny’s life.

On July 18, 1998, Sunny married Charles “Charlie” Supplee. Together, Charlie and Sunny shared 28 years of marriage built on love, friendship, mutual respect, and admiration. They enjoyed the simple pleasures of life together, especially getting on the motorcycle and traveling the open road together. Charlie was not only her husband, but also her companion, friend, and the person with whom she shared so many meaningful memories.

Sunny was known for her compassionate heart and lifelong love of animals. She would rescue and patiently nurse back to health any animal in need, and she had a special fondness for cats and rabbits. Family and friends often joked that she should open an animal rescue because of the many different animals she cared for over the years.

She also loved being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying board games, card games, and computer games. In later years, Sunny discovered a talent for diamond art, creating pieces she was especially good at and proud to share.

Sunny is survived by her beloved husband, Charlie Supplee; and her cherished daughter, Jessica Lee McGloin and her wife Lauren of Oakdale, CT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lew G. Bump and Sandra McCaffrey; her maternal grandparents, Antonio and Laura Mederios, with whom she shared a close and loving relationship; and her brother, Henry McCaffrey.

In accordance with Sunny’s wishes, no public services will be held.

Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to donate to their local animal shelter.
