Laurence Lee Benham, 71, passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2021 at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center following a courageous 15 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born on March 20, 1950 in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of Laurence and Helen (Sheats) Benham.
Laurence graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968. Laurence married the love of his life Ellen Jean (Blough) Benham on August 26th, 1978. He worked for many years at Chi Chi’s and Rockwell Automation.
Laurence had many interests and hobbies; he enjoyed macromae, fishing and traveling. Laurence’s favorite way to travel was going on bus trips which he did on many occasions throughout his life.
Laurence is survived by his loving wife of 42 years: Ellen J. (Blough) Benham; his sister-in-law: Janet Lipps, his aunt: Vivian Ford; his nephew: Christopher Cook; his cousin: David R. Baird and several cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Laurence and Helen (Sheats) Benham, his brother: Jeffrey Benham, his brother-in-laws: Duane Muse and Larry Lipps.
Services will be held at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 31st from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. The burial will immediately follow at Oakdale Cemetery, 328 N. Market Street, Jefferson, Ohio.
