Kirk Williams Obituary

Kirk A. Williams, age 64, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his residence in Jefferson.

He was born January 16, 1956 in Warren, the son of the late Ray & Mabel (Davis) Williams.  Kirk grew up in Ashtabula, attended Harbor High School, joined the service in his senior year and graduated from Karlsruhe High School in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Kirk was a proud U. S. Army veteran, serving 18 years of active duty and finished his career in the U. S. Army Reserves.  Much of his veteran career was spent in Germany but was also stationed in Colorado and Maryland, where he was honored to be a track vehicle repairman and instructor and working with the M-1 Abrams Tank.  Kirk was one of the “Road Dogs” with the 517th Maintenance Company, the 51st Maintenance Battalion.

Kirk has lived in Jefferson since 2002 and has worked at King Luminaire the past 15 years.  He was a member of the Jefferson Eagles Aerie Lodge #3881 where he previously served as President and was currently a Trustee.  Kirk enjoyed “tinkering”; he could fix just about anything.

Survivors include his fiancée, Eileen M. Crudele; a son, Christian Williams in Germany; Eileen’s children who he loved as his own, Jennifer (Mario, II) Scutella of Carmel, IN and their children, Angel, Mario, III & Raven; Michael Crudele of Jefferson and his children, Caleb, Jon, Andy & Vinny; a sister, Linda Taylor of N. Canton and a half-sister, Tammy Williams of Geneva.

Private services will be held with American Legion Neal Post #743 of N. Kingsville rendering military honors.  Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.  Following government restrictions being lifted, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Jefferson Eagles Club, 133 S. Spruce St., Jefferson, OH  44047, where memorial contributions may be directed.
