She was born in Ashtabula on August 21, 1944 the daughter of Alfred and Mary Ellen (Whitely) Anderson.
Kay graduated from Edgewood High School in 1962. On December 29, 1962, she married Donald Johnson. Together they were blessed with 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 60 years of love and priceless family memories.
She worked for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator in her younger years and ended up retiring as an aid for disabled children within the Buckeye School System, mostly at Ridgeview Elementary School. She enjoyed flowers, birds, and music of all kinds. She was an animal lover, but she was especially fond of her many Pekingese dogs. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the church choir. She was ever so proud of her husband when he was ordained by the Bishop as a Deacon.
She is survived by the loving family she felt so very blessed to be part of; her husband Donald; her children: Kelly (Mindy Brayo) Johnson, Mark (Mary) Johnson, and Sean (Trisha Hill) Johnson; her grandchildren: Ray (Rachel) Petelin, Michael (Angie) Petelin, Lisa (John) Ostrowski, Ashley Johnson, Donald (Luised) Johnson III; her great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alli, Jack, Brennan, Sasha, and Luka; her siblings: Kevin Anderson and Kim Glosser and her brother-in-law Ron Skarlinsky; and of course her loving dog Ruby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Jason who died at birth and her sister Karen Skarlinsky who passed in 2018.
