ASHTABULA – Kathryn Jean (Stone) Orth, 72, passed away September 27, 2021, at Saybrook Landing.

She was born in Geneva, Ohio on May 28, 1949, the daughter of Franklin and Reta (Prine) Stone.

Kathryn was a registered dietician who worked many years at Geneva Hospital.

She was the loving and dedicated wife of Richard Orth.  Kathryn and Richard very willingly and loving decided to be foster parents.  Over the years they fostered 26 different children.  They even traveled to the Ukraine on a mission trip to volunteer at an orphanage.  Her huge heart and love for children will never be forgotten.  Kathryn also enjoyed swimming, making quilts, gardening, and spending time with her family.  She also loved going to Holmes County, to shop and eat and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

She is survived by her loving family; her siblings: Jerry (Linda) Stone, Frank (Carrie) Stone, Carol Patrick, and Nina Stone; numerous nieces and nephews and Missi Davis, a foster daughter who always remained very close to her.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Bridget Stone, and her brother John Stone.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at Fleming Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road Ashtabula; calling hours from 10:00-12:00 and the funeral starting at 12:00.  Burial will follow in Austin Cemetery in Austinburg.
