Kathryn Lorena Maie Namey

Kathryn L. M. Namey, age 37, Jefferson native, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 16, 2020 in Los Angeles, CA where she has lived the past 15 years.

She was born January 6, 1983 in Madison, the daughter of Dr. Pamela L.  Lancaster and Dr. John T. Namey, Jr.

Kathryn was a 2001 graduate of Jefferson Area High School where she was a very active student with sports, cheerleading, in the National Society and Model UN team.  She was a 2005 graduate of Ohio State University with a Theatre and Psychology degree and in 2006 she graduated from the Howard Fine Acting School in LA.  As an avid bike and overall community enthusiast, she assumed a leadership role with the “Mom Ridaz” bike group, was an active member and co-host with the radio show “Bike Talk”,  and volunteered with the bike movement CicLAvia in LA.  Kathryn studied at El Camino College and obtained her welding certification in 2016, then studied at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and obtained her motorcycle technician certification in 2017.

Whether it was being an extra on a Hollywood set, community involvement or being an Aunt, Dog Mom or friend, her devotion was unmatched.  We want to thank the community for their outpouring of love and support, especially Kat’s community in LA.

Kathryn is survived by her mother, Dr. Pamela L. Lancaster; a sister, Mary R. Namey of Grayslake, IL; a brother, John T. Namey of Jefferson and nieces and nephews, Autumn, Grayson & Josephine “Jo”.  Her father, John preceded her in death.
