Kathleen Pearl “Kathie” (Williams) Watts, 84, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2021 in Jefferson, Ohio. Kathie was born on December 3rd, 1936 in Jefferson, Ohio the daughter of Lester and Opal (Curtis) Williams.
Kathie married the love of her life, Thomas Charles Watts on November 28th, 1959. She worked for the Ashtabula County Board of Education as an Attendance Officer for Jefferson Area City Schools for many years before retiring in 1997.
Kathie was a long-time member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ashtabula. Kathie was a foster parent for 20 years and volunteered her time as a Coach for the Ashtabula YMCA’s swim team, Ashtabula Little League Softball, Jefferson Area Girls Softball (J.A.G.S), Jefferson Junior High Volleyball and Jefferson High School Girls weightlifting. She was also a referee for volleyball and a timekeeper for basketball. She served as the General Chairman for the Falcon Follies and was a member of the Jefferson High School Athletic and Music boosters.
Kathie is survived by her loving family; her husband: Thomas Charles Watts; her children: Valerie (Mark “Skip”) Weber of Jefferson and Bradley Kent Watts of Mansfield;
Preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Opal Williams her Siblings: brothers- Esker Williams, Roy Williams and Ronald Williams and her brother in infancy, Robert Leslie Williams and just recently by her sister Alpha June Parmley.
Private family funeral services were held Thursday and burial took place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Services to celebrate Kathie’s life will be held this summer when the restrictions on large gatherings has been lifted.
