Joyce Marie Monroe

Joyce Marie Monroe, 79, passed away on February 28, 2024, at Jefferson Healthcare in Jefferson, Ohio.

She was born on July 16, 1944, in New Lyme, Ohio, the daughter of Elliot C. and Viola (Drown) Monroe.

Joyce graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School in 1962 then went on to attend Kent State University where she received her B.A. in Education. 

Joyce worked for the Ashtabula County Clerk of Courts for many years. She was a past member of the Lenox Federated Church in Jefferson, Ohio. 

She enjoyed reading, especially the Harry Potter series; she was also a big history buff.  Joyce loved her "sweets", her favorite being Hershey's Chocolate.  Her greatest source of joy and happiness was spending time with her family during the holidays and attending her grandchildren's functions and events. 

Joyce is survived by her loving daughter, Allie (John, Sr.) O'Neill; her grandchildren: Alexis, Mackenzie, Aidan and Avery and her sisters, Mary Ruth Kwallek and Shirley Carnahan. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, John Anthony "Jay" O'Neill, Jr. 

In keeping with Joyce's wishes, there will not be any public services at this time.
