Joyce Ann (Buchtinec) Enos

Joyce A. Enos, age 80. Sheffield Twp., died late Thursday evening at the UH-Elyria Medical Center.

She was born June 20, 1940 in Ashtabula, the daughter of John H. & Gertrude J. (Johns) Buchtinec and has resided in Ashtabula County most all of her life.  Joyce was graduate of Chula Vista High and was a licensed beautician.

She owned J. J.’s Hair Salon in N. Kingsville, then worked at Carlisle’s Hair Salon and at the Ashtabula Co. Nursing Home’s Beauty Shop.  Joyce was a member and Queen Mother of the Red Hat Satin Dolls, she was a gifted artist, loved to draw and won many ribbons locally.  She also enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for most family members, enjoyed crafts and made many wedding flower arrangements for area couples.  Joyce was a member of Mt. Carmel Parish, but more recently was attending St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.

She will be forever missed by the “Loyalty of Disaster Sisters”, herself, her sister MarSue and cousin Barbara Jean.  What one didn’t think of the others one did.

Survivors include a son, Claude (Roberta) Kobernik of Sheffield Twp.; two grandsons, Nicholas Kobernik of Sheffield Twp. & Bradley (Rachel Clark) Kobernik of Akron; a sister, MarSue (Richard) Randa of Ashtabula; a brother, John (Sandy) Buchtinec of Eatonton, GA and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Buchtinec & Gertrude Smith; husband, Robert Enos, step-father, Burt Smith; step-brother, Martin Smith & step-sister, Vera Palmer.

A drive through visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00AM-12:30PM at St. Andrews Catholic Church parking lot, 3700 St. Rt. 193, Sheffield Twp.  A private mass will follow with Fr. John Ettinger officiating.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sheffield VFD, 3636 Sheffield-Monroe Rd., Kingsville, OH  44048.
