Joseph Vitale

Joseph J. Vitale passed away February 28, 2021 at the Ashtabula County Nursing home at age 75.

Born Jan. 5, 1946 to Anna (Dubrock) and Joseph Vitale in Ashtabula.

He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and St. John High School, graduating in 1964. He was a member of St. Joseph (Our Lady of Peace) parish.

He was employed by Inland Container Corp. following high school.

In June 1969 he sustained a serious injury in a motorcycle accident and has been in care since that time. He has resided at the Ashtabula County Home the past four decades.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by a son, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as friends Jerry and Jack.

Joseph’s passion was electronics and mechanics. He loved cars and radios. Despite many limitations after his injuries, Joe maintained a positive, friendly attitude.

His friends are most grateful to the staff of Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for over 40 years of excellent care as well as to Bella Care Hospice’s care during Joe’s final months.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Volunteer Guardianship program of Ashtabula County Catholic Charities or Bella Care Hospice.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday March 2, 2021 at St. Joseph Cemetery at 11:00 am
