Jose A. Aponte

Jose “Tony” Aponte, 78, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2023 in Ashtabula, Ohio.  

He was born on June 13, 1945, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan and Antonia (Torres) Aponte. On January 21, 1998 he married Kimberly, they shared twenty-five years of marriage together.

Jose was a family man, he loved planning and attending cookouts. When he wasn’t at a family event he was taking care of plants or at the local flea-market. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling. Jose was an excellent singer.   

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Aponte, children: Roberto, Jose Jr., Juan, Bryan, Jessica and Ricky and eight grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by, his parents, daughters Sonya and Virginia, and his sixteen siblings.

Keeping with his wishes no services will be held.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Ashtabula County Nursing home for being so kind and compassionate.
