John Michael Tresnicky, 82, of Jefferson passed away after a short illness on February 6, 2025 in Geneva Hospital surrounded by his family.
Jack was born in Windber, PA. After graduation from Adams Summerhill High School in 1960 he proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1961-1965 as a missile technician on the USS Hunley (AS-31). The Hunley was the first submarine tender to service the Polaris class submarines; he was stationed in Virginia Beach and Scotland.
He moved to New Jersey with family, where he worked in warehouse management, retiring to Ohio.
Jack was an avid sports fan, particularly of Penn State college football team, and the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He thoroughly enjoyed reading science fiction and Civil War history and watching old westerns and crime shows.
Jack had a very outgoing personality and a gift for connecting with people.
He is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, and his brother Daniel. He is survived by his sister Christina Patten and her husband Edward Patten; his niece Kelly Patten, his great nieces, and many cousins.
In honor of his wishes private family funeral services will be held.
