John Fisher Obituary

John Phillip Fisher, age 87, went home peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, early Saturday morning April 25, 2020 at Metro Health Hospital in Cleveland. John was born on October 18, 1932 in McPherson, Kansas relocating at age 15 to Woodsfield, Ohio where he met the first love of his life, Shirley Jones. They were married 34 years and settled in Ashtabula, Ohio where John started Fisher Heating and Refrigeration.  He met the second love of his life, Jean Kriesher and they were married for 32 years.

John was employed with various jobs retiring from his company in 1996. He loved to spend time with his family, garden, tool leather, and enjoyed celebrating his birthday. Earlier years John was an avid hunter and fisherman.

John loved and was a member of Eagleville Bible Church for over 15 years. He never met a stranger and was known as Johnny Fisher, the Singing Storyteller and in later years The Magic Touch Band. He was an entertainer and avid musician and loved to involve people listening to him in his songs. There are countless events for which John played and sang:  the Hospice Cake Auction, various nursing homes, Harpersfield Music on the River event, and several years at Bissell Maple Farm March Maple Madness Events. Most recently he played with his friends at Rock Creek Fire Hall and the Barn in Hartsgrove.  He received countless awards and trophies for fiddle contests.

John is survived by his loving wife, Jean, daughters,  Susan (Gary) Richards of Lorain, Debby (Dave) Bissell of Rock Creek, Joan (Jim) McAllister of Chardon, Sherell (Mark) Morano of Kingsville,  Stacie (Ron) Hackleman of Chesterland, and grandchildren whom he was very proud of: Cheri (Rob) Schoonmaker , Mark (Mandy) Richards, Nathan (Kathy Jo) Bissell, Andrew (Hazel) Bissell, Erin (Mike) Adame, Mitchell and Matthew McAllister, Tyler and Zachary Hackleman, Jacob and Nicole Foltz and 11 great grandchildren; also his sister, Doris Fisher of Florida, and brother in law, Gary (Beverly) Jones of Jerusalem, Ohio. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley in 1986 and his parents, Thurman and Myrtle Fisher.
