Joanne L. (Fitting) Carpenter

Joanne Lee (Fitting) Carpenter, 84, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at her home in Saybrook, Ohio.

She was born on June 26, 1938 the daughter of Floyd and Ellen (Luoma) Fitting.

Joanne graduated from Harbor High School in 1956.

She worked as a legal secretary for many years at Warren & Young, Hague & Hague and Simon Law Office. Joanne was a member of Good Life Singers for 50 years. She was a caretaker for many of her elderly friends. Joanne was known for being a hard worker, she took care of Fitting Campgrounds for several years and worked the election polls in Saybrook Township. She enjoyed traveling and taking care of her family.

Joanne is survived by her children, Scott A. Carpenter of Ashtabula, Cheryl A. Carpenter of Ashtabula, Leslie E. (Bob) Anchor of Rock Creek, Julie N. Post of Aurora, Randall T. Carpenter of Ashtabula and Connie L. Carpenter of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Taylor R. (Mathew) Bloom, Hillary A. Post (Kyle George), Andrew T. Huang and Laney E. Rood and her companion of 22 years, Roel Wolfert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Ralph T. Carpenter and her brother, Fred Fitting.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 from 11:00-1:00 with funeral to immediately follow at Fleming & Billman Funeral home 526 W. Prospect RD Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. With a burial at Edgewood Cemetery. Any memorial contributions can be made out to Leslie Anchor, 2443 Mechanicsville RD Rock Creek, Ohio 44084.
