Jean F. (Butch) Kovach, 89, of Jefferson, Ohio died peacefully in the hospital on Saturday, December 9th with her family by her side. She was born in Blaine, Ohio on December 22, 1933, daughter of the late John M. and Jennie F. (Ashley) Butch.
She graduated from St. John’s Central High School in Bellaire, Ohio. Jean was a resident of Jefferson since 1974. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister, assisted in CCD, volunteered at Spiderweb’s community outreach program in Jefferson and was a red cross donor, where she was proud to give the gift of life. She worked at Sylvania Electric, Ken Forging Inc., and Channel Products. She enjoyed gardening, polka dancing, and spending time with her family.
Survived by her children Karen Kovach, Columbus, Ken (Barbara) Kovach, Jefferson, Krisi Velliquette, Jefferson, brother Edward H. (Sandra) Butch, St. Clairsville. Grandchildren: Connor Kovach, Kate Kovach, Trinity Velliquette, Grace Velliquette, Faith Velliquette, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Butch and sister, Helen Dubil.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00- 11:30 Saturday, December 16th at Fleming & Billman Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson St, Jefferson Ohio. Mass to begin at noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 32 E Jefferson St.
