Janice Eileen (McCune) Covetta

Janice Eileen(McCune) Covetta, 84, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Jefferson Healthcare Center.

She was born on October 17, 1938, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Clifford and Carolyn (Westenfelder) McCune.

On August 19, 1967, Janice married the love of her life, Anthony Covetta; they shared fifty years of wonderful marriage together until his passing in February of 2018.  

Janice was a Payroll Supervisor for SCM, she dedicated forty-five years of service to the company until her retirement in 1998.

She enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Italy where she met Anthony’s family.  She found happiness in gardening and cooking Italian food for husband. She loved hosting dinner parties and socializing with family and friends. Janice was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Browns.

Janice is survived by her siblings: Joyce (Edward) DeDecker and Jacqulyn “Jackie” (Ken) Prescott; her nieces and nephews: Kristie Prescott, Dr. Henry (Meribel) Covetta, Don (Tracy) Covetta, Melinda (Scott) Oswiecinski and Melissa (Shamus) Walters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Anthony, her brother, William McCune; her sister-in-law, Sue McCune and her niece, Susan Covetta.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 11:00a-12:00p with a funeral service to follow at 12:00p at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 E. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio, 44047. Burial to immediately follow the service at Oakdale Cemetery.
