Janet Svenson Obituary

Janet Frances Svenson appreciated people, always looking for the best in whoever she was with at the moment, and thereby following God’s will by loving her friends and neighbors.  Her wish is embodied in Hebrews 13:25: “God’s grace be with you all.”  Shortly after noon on Sunday, 22 March 2020, Janet’s mission on Earth came to be completed, and in her own words, “So many miracles were performed and now I live the greatest healing and miracle of all with Jesus and my Daddy in Heaven!  My prayer is that we will all meet again in heaven.”

Janet was born Monday, 21 October 1963, in Albuquerque, NM.  She spent most of her life in Ashtabula County, graduated from Jefferson Area High School, and studied at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Edinboro University.  Over the years she babysat; cleaned the Professional Building with her family; worked in Middlefield factories and the Painesville Post Office; and taught at the Christian Life Academy, Ashtabula County and City Schools, and for the last 21 years at Lakeshore Primary in Conneaut.  Janet also spent time working in Boise, Idaho for Bart and Lois Adrian as a nanny to their children, Ben, Carmel and Lauren, and spoke often and fondly of her ongoing relationship with them.

Janet cherished her childhood memories of playing with her sisters and cousins, and how they created fun through their imaginations.  She loved taking photos, visiting covered bridges, being around people, looking for that perfect gift, taste-testing new foods, experiencing new things, and being a part of whatever interested you.  Her greatest joy and blessing, however, was spending time with her son, David, and sharing with him her passions for nature, being outdoors, and traveling to see new places.

Janet specifically penned the following words of special thanks to share:

David.  Mommy and Jesus love you. You are a blessing from The Lord. I love you with all my heart. Love God. He loves you!

Mom.  I want to thank you for all your love. Thank you for being my nurse.

My sisters, Davina and Susan.  For going to appointments and doing paper work!  I could not have done it without you.

Conneaut Area City Schools and especially Lakeshore Primary.  For never letting me have a pity party.

“Cancer Center” Nurses.  For being so kind and caring.

Dr. Varghai. For NEVER giving up on me.

Dr. Patelli. For communicating with Dr. Varghei and giving him rest.

Dr. Mathusamy.   Extra Special thanks to she who discovered my disease. I love you!

All who prayed for me; shared and sent cards; and gave gifts and hugs. God’s blessings, and my love and appreciation to you.

In addition, Janet impressed upon us to express the following thanks on her behalf:

Aunt Elma. For coming from Oklahoma to tirelessly, calmly and compassionately do so much to bless my life.

My niece, Tracia.  For being my final student, practicing your nursing skills, and taking care of me in my final days.

Cathy.  For being so much more than a nurse.  You were a friend, always listened to my ramblings, encouraged me, and would make me laugh even in the hard times.

Josie.  For always greeting me with a smile and encouragement.

Staff at Lake Shore Primary.  Again, you were like family. You encouraged me and kept me going, with hugs, laughter, encouragement, and cards.  I loved coming to work to see you and be blessed by you.

The entire Hospice team. For your tireless and compassionate care for me.

Janet is survived by her mother, Laura Svenson; son, David Roger Svenson; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Willis Proper and their children, Amalia and Will; sister and brother-in-law, Davina and Ron Bailey and their children, Ty and Tracia; brother and sister-in-law from Spain,  Inaki Aguirre and Cristina and their children, Nerea and Mikel.  Janet is preceded in death by her father “Daddy”, David Svenson; grandparents, Donald and Janet Palmer & Carl and Frances Svenson; uncles Roger Palmer and Chris Svenson; cousin Cory Cunningham; and aunt Norma Palmer.
