Jane E. Soltis

Jane E. Soltis, 91, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the Sanctuary of Geneva Assisted Living in Geneva, Ohio.

She was born on April 22, 1934, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Focht) Mallory.

Jane was a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County and worked at the Jefferson Clothesline Laundromat for many years. She truly enjoyed the years she spent working at the laundromat and meeting new people.

On March 11, 1988, she married John J. Soltis, they shared twenty-nine years of marriage together before his passing in January of 2017.

Family was very important to Jane and she enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed watching her great grandchildren’s sporting events and band concerts. She was thrilled when her great grandson, Chris would play the piano for her.  A very important goal of Jane’s was to be able to see her three eldest great grandchildren graduate from High School and she was successful in achieving that goal.

Her Toy Poodle, Mason, not only gave her great enjoyment in her last few years but was also a great source of comfort.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Sheldon of Texas; her stepdaughter, Carol (Eddie) Davis of Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Kim Vesey of Ohio; her grandsons, Ryan Stevens and Patrick Vesey of Ohio; her granddaughter, Stephanie (Drew) Jones of Texas; her great-grandsons: Matthew Stevens, Christopher Stevens and Warren Laravie all of Ohio and her great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Stevens of Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Soltis; her son, Leslie Vesey; her granddaughter, Sarah Vesey and her son-in-law, Charles Sheldon.

Many thanks to the staff at the Sanctuary of Geneva Assisted Living where Jane loved the girls who cared for her and to the staff of the Hospice of Western Reserve for the dedication and care they provided her with.

In keeping with Jane’s known wishes, there will not be any public services.
